Official Tournament Rules

Boards are placed 27 feet from front edge to front edge. Foul line will be the front edge of the board.
Players must use boards and bags provided. Players may not apply any foreign substances to boards or bags.
Coin Toss: Each game will start with a coin toss. The winner of the coin toss gets to pitch first, pick their lane and pick bag color. Players need to stay in the designated lane for the whole game. Players need to remain at their designated board for the whole game.

Doubles Play: One player from each team pitches from one side of the board and the other two players from the opposing team pitch from the other side.

Players at one board take turns pitching their bags (one player at a time) until each player has pitched all four bags, players at the other board will take score and resume pitching back to the other board. Players must deliver the bag with an underhanded release. Feet must stay behind the line of the front of the board at the time of releasing the bag. A player must pitch all 4 cornhole bags.

The player/team who scored in the preceding frame pitches first in the next frame. If neither player/team scores, the player/team who pitched first in the preceding frame shall retain first pitch in the next frame.

Play to 21: The game is played until one team reaches the score of 21 or more points (no bust). The winning team does not need to win by two or more points. The game cannot end in the middle of an inning. So if a team pitches and reaches or exceeds 21 points, the other team is allowed to pitch all of their bags until the inning is completed. If there is a tie at the end of the inning, play continues until one team has a higher score at the end of an inning.

Woody: Refers to any cornhole bag that has been pitched and remains on the cornhole board playing surface at the conclusion of the frame. Each woody is 1 point.

Cornhole: Refers to any cornhole bag that has been pitched and passes through the cornhole board hole at anytime within the frame. Each cornhole is 3 points.

Knocker: Any cornhole bag can be knocked in the hole or off the board by either the same player or the opposing player resulting in 3 points or 0 points respectively.

Fouls: Any cornhole bag that has been pitched in rules violation - pitching with feet outside of the foul line, pitching over hand, pitching out of turn, and pitching from the wrong lane. And any bag that comes to rest touching the ground and the board. No points are recorded for foul bags. If a foul bag lands on the playing surface or comes to rest touching the ground and the board, it must be removed immediately.

Dirty Bags: Any cornhole bag that touched the ground at anytime. If the bag touched the ground before landing on the board, no point is recorded and the bag is removed from the board immediately.

If bags become piled inside the hole and may interfere or obstruct with the next pitch or if there is a question whether a cornhole bag would have naturally fallen through the hole, a player may request to rake the cornhole bags that have fallen inside the hole.

Cancellation Scoring: The points of one player cancel out the points of their opponent, only one player/team can score in each frame.

Recording the Score: No cornhole bags shall be moved before the scoring is determined. If this decision is in doubt, please ask one of the tournament directors to help determine the scoring. It is the responsibility of the players/teams to ensure the score is represented correctly on the scoreboard at the conclusion of each frame before moving to the next frame.

Player Conduct: Distracting behavior, abusive language and obscene gestures are not allowed. Players with unsportsmanlike conduct will be eliminated from the tournament, a warning may or may not be given prior.

Have fun! Remember this is a fun tournament, rules are self enforced and play is based on the honor system.
