CPR/AED & FIRST AID TRAINING
Keeping our community safe!
We provide training through HSI (Health & Safety Institute) and offer CPR/AED & First Aid certification classes twice a month. Our trainings will equip you with skills to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies. All of our classes incorporate blended learning: delivery of content and instruction via digital and online individual training link that is self paced. Followed up with the in-person skills session.
CPR – or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation – is an emergency lifesaving procedure performed when the heart stops beating. Immediate CPR can double or triple chances of survival after cardiac arrest.
Why is CPR Important? Keeping the blood flow active – even partially – extends the opportunity for a successful resuscitation once trained medical staff arrive on site.
CPR / AED & First Aid Training Fee: NEW Cert: $65 (+$10 if you need First Aid)
RE-CERTIFICATION: $55 (+$10 if you need First Aid).
All card payments will now include a 3% service charge. Cash/Check accepted in person with no fee.

Training Details
- Each certification is good for two years.
- Blended learning lessons for NEW certifications are offered online & must be completed prior to the in-person skills session.
- After registering for a NEW certification and paying for a course, we will email you a unique training link.
- NEW certifications must register 5 days before skills session to allow enough time for online training.
- Both NEW & RENEWALS must complete an in-person skills session.
- RENEWALS are only required to attend the in-person skill session.
- There must be at least 3 participants registered in order to host the skills session.
- You must pay for training at the time of registration. NO refunds.
- Upon successful completion, you will receive a two-year certification via email.
Worksite CPR/AED Training
The Le Mars YMCA can take our training to YOU! Contact us if you are interested in hosting a CPR/AED training class at your place of work for your employees. Class sizes need to be 10 or less for one instructor. Multiple dates can be scheduled. Ask us how to become a Worksite Wellness Partner and save $5/certification.

CHILD & BABYSITTING SAFETY
Adventures in babysitting!
The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program gives pre-teens, teenagers and young adults everything they need to know for safe and successful babysitting. The program teaches how to get started with a business, working with parents and children, and key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips. The training is perfect for young kids interested in a babysitting business, or who have responsibility for younger family members. Students will also learn how to assist with potty training & diaper changes, feeding techniques and how to make bottles.
