FOREVERWELL empowers adults 60+ to stay active, connected, and engaged through YMCA wellness programs that support healthy aging.  Rooted in physical activity, social connection, and lifelong well-being.  The goal is to help every participant live well, every day.  The YMCA creates a supportive environment for people of all ages to thrive. FOREVERWELL PROGRAMS

YMCA MEMBERSHIP

YMCA memberships for 60+ adults include our senior membership rate, plus options through insurance programs like SilverSneakers, Silver & Fit, Renew Active and Molina, making it easy to stay active and engaged.

INSURANCE-BASED MEMBERSHIPS

Y Members may be eligible for a free membership through their insurance plan, or Medicare Advantage and Supplement Plans.  The Le Mars YMCA is proud to partner with Molina Healthcare, SilverSneakers, Renew Active, and Silver & Fit.  

Contact your carrier or bring your card information into the YMCA between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM and we can help check your eligibility.

 

FULL PAY MEMBERSHIPS

Our Senior Membership rate is offered to any adult aged 60 & older.  You can pay for a month at a time or sign up auto-payment from your account or a card.  The rate is $32/month.  Or you can save 20% and pay for 12 months at a time for $308.

 

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

The Y offers need-based assistance to help individuals and families access YMCA Membership.  These scholarships are made possible by generous donors and partners who are committed to providing resources that increase access so more people can come together for the common good.  Find more information here

GROUP EXERCISE

As you get older, you may find that you have a new set of fitness goals you want to achieve, such as improving your balance and flexibility. We’re committed to helping older adults stay physically and mentally healthy. ALL classes are included with your membership, no registration required.

AQUA MORNING MIX: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 7:30-8:15 AM and Mondays & Wednesdays from 9:00-9:45 AM

Experience the benefits of water exercise during this 45-minute functional workout. This aqua class will help you build strength to make daily activities & movements easier.

VINYASA YOGA: Wednesdays from 8:00-8:45 AM

A mindful practice that combines breath control, flexibility, & strength-building postures. It promotes relaxation, balance, & overall wellness while improving mobility & reducing stress.

PILATES: Mondays & Wednesdays from 9:00-9:45 AM

Pilates is an innovative total body conditioning experience which combines stretching & strengthening the body. The series of movements promote elongated & toned muscles and is well known for developing the core of the body. This class improves strength, flexibility, balance control & muscle symmetry. Pilates is low impact & beneficial for all ages.

CHAIR YOGA: Wednesdays from 9:00-9:45 AM

A form of yoga practiced while seated or using a chair for support, making it accessible for people with mobility challenges or limited flexibility.

ZUMBA: Wednesdays from 8:00-8:45 AM

Zumba is a mixture of body sculpting movements with easy-to-follow dance steps for a dynamic and effective workout. Our Zumba instructor changes up the music & moves frequently to make sure you are always challenges to the max!

FIT FOR LIFE: Mondays & Wednesdays from 10:30-11:15 AM

This class will help you feel & be your best self. Fit for life will help improve your muscular strength, balance & cardiovascular health. All exercises can be modified to meet you wherever you are in your journey.

AQUA DEEP: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 5:45-6:30 PM

Experience a moderate intensity, low impact workout focused on challenging your cardiovascular system, core strength & muscular endurance. Flotation aids are available.

WALK WITH EASE

The Arthritis Foundation’s Walk With Ease Program is a community-based physical activity and self-management education program. While walking is the central activity, Walk With Ease is a multi-component program that also includes health education, stretching and strengthening exercises, and motivational strategies. The program includes a guidebook and a walking schedule to get you safely moving toward better health.

Walk With Ease is an 8-week evidence-based program to develop healthy physical activity habits to support YOUR well-being.  Walk With Ease here at the YMCA is designed to help YOU build an enjoyable walking routine.  The 8-week program is free for members and available to help you jumpstart your fitness journey.

Program Goals:

  • Reduce pain and discomfort of arthritis
  • Increase balance, strength, and walking pace
  • Build confidence
  • Improve overall health

When:  Mondays and Thursdays, 2:00-3:00 PM

Program Fee: First session FREE for anyone, only 10 spots available!  After first session it will continue to be a FREE program for Y members.  Community members can still sign up and pay $35 per 8-week session.

Y WELLNESS: Monthly Education Series

The Le Mars YMCA is more than a gym. We’re a community – a place where you can gather, connect with others, and learn something new! We are excited to partner with Floyd Valley Healthcare and Le Mars Physical Therapy to offer this new program. These series feature a range of speakers from a wide variety of expertise. From health and wellness, to finances to cybersecurity, there is plenty to learn!

Each session will provide educational information about various topics from local health and wellness leaders.  If you want to present on a topic to the community reach out to Jaden at 712-546-6655 or jadenh@lemarsymca.org.
